This visual support and cue card system was created to improve recall and completion of an upcoming task with a goal of increased independence when attending meals. Cue cards were created to hand to the patient as a reminder for an upcoming meal. The visual reminder keeps the patient aware of the upcoming meal while getting reading (toileting, dressing, etc.) requiring less cues ad verbal reminders from staff. I hang the Meal Reminder sign on the door so the patient can place the cue card back on the sign as they leave their room for the meal.
Recommendations
Laminate the sign to improve durability. Use velcro on the back of the cue cards for east on/off functional use.
